Russell has considerable experience and market knowledge of marine and energy insurance, acting on behalf of assureds, insurers and captive underwriters in claims, coverage and recoveries under marine and energy policies. He is a keen advocate of the avoidance of litigation by good contract drafting. He is particularly experienced in dispute litigation where it becomes unavoidable. Russell initially qualified as a barrister later transferring to become a solicitor. He has a degree in English law (BA) and a post-graduate degree (LLM) in maritime law from London University.
